October Joy do.Good.Stitches

Whew, it is barely October and I'm actually ahead on my bee blocks for the Joy.do.Good.Stitches circle! Well, that's because I'm the quilter for the month, so I got to pick the block and I thought I would show my circle some examples of how simple or complex this block can be (not that they really needed the potential inspiration because they are crazy talented ladies!).

I had seen this cute hot air balloon quilt on Craft Gossip a little while ago and made a mental note that it would be a cute project when my time came. It is called the Up, Up and Away pattern by Quiltmaker.

Then I saw these pictures from Ashley and knew that these would really be fun. I put together this mosaic:

And made these:

They were a lot of fun to make! Linking up to Sew Modern Monday and Let's Get Acquainted and seeing what you have been up to.

  1. Awesome balloons! What a great idea for a block. And the patchwork vs strips balloons - good variability.
    Happy sewing!
